I recently did a personal brand shoot with Ling Wang Photography, and I have featured many of the photos on my Instagram page (@Gabrielle_Bunch). I’ve received dozens of messages asking about the outfits, so I have decided to write a blog post about it! Here’s the lowdown about each of the outfits, in detail.

Meet the Team
Look #1: Flirty Floral
It may not look like it (because my photographer is amazing), but the first dress is not supposed to be a strapless dress. I actually took it to a seamstress to get altered at the hem and at the shoulders. I’m 5’1″ so maxi dresses and I don’t mesh well. Anyway, turns out that the seamstress not only did not finish the dress on time, she stitched the wrong straps together. So, we had to improvise and stick the straps in and make it a strapless for the day. Thank goodness for Ling because I almost just said, “Whatever,” and wore the dress sideways.
I’ll wear the dress again soon and post the pictures on Instagram. YAY, an excuse to wear this beauty again!
Show Me Your Mumu
Draping beautifully off the body in fluid chiffon, this ultra-feminine gown features a deep-cut back and a wraparound skirt ready to catch every breeze. With an elasticized waistline, the A-line style is effortlessly comfortable and universally flattering.
This dress comes in twelve different colors and it actually comes in different styles as well. I’m really tempted to go buy this dress in different colors and styles because it’s so pretty!
A Perfect Match! Kaylee Collar Necklace – $188
The perfect foundation for a stacked and layered look, this vintage-inspired collar necklace features a row of richly colored, hand-set crystals nestled with prong settings.
I borrowed this necklace from Ling. I found a beautiful lookalike from Nordstrom called the Kaylee Collar Necklace that’s extremely similar to the one I wore for the shoot. This one comes in crystal white, emerald green, or jet black. I love that it’s adjustable so you can wear it with different types of tops and dresses.
Look #2: So Sultry
Show Me Your Mumu
With a cut-to-there neckline and leg-flaunting shorts, a playful romper is all grown up. A drawstring waist defines the figure, while flowy three-quarter sleeves add an angelic look.
This one was totally out of my element but also my favorite. It was also my husband’s favorite!
I designed this necklace at the Color Bar at the Kendra Scott store. They also have an option to design your own jewelry online. I chose the Mason necklace style. I chose the rose quartz color for both stones. However, you can choose different colors for each stone – it’s the same price. You can choose from gold or rhodium – I chose rhodium. All of this totaled $70. I received half off my purchase by using my birthday discount. During the month of your birthday, you can show the cashier your driver’s license and you can receive 50% off one item in-store.
Look #3: Perfectly Polished
Alice + Olivia
A deep V-neckline underscored by a flirty triangle cutout is echoed by the plunging V-back of a precisely tailored fit-and-flare dress that transitions seamlessly from work to play in crisp navy blue. Semi-sheer panels on the back accentuate a slender inset band that hits at the natural waist.
Look #4: Garnet Gown
Rhinestone-flecked lace romances the crop-top portion of this sweeping evening gown.
This dress was also totally out of my element but also super fun to wear. Another amazing thing about this dress was that it covered my stretch marks! Not that I am ashamed to show my stretch marks, but for the photo shoot, it was perfect! Cool little fact: the skirt portion has pockets!
Look #5: Comfy Casual
This entire outfit is from J. Crew – from the shirt down to the shoes. I pulled all of the items out of my closet so they weren’t available anymore. However, I was able to find similar items on their website.
10 Percent Deck T-Shirt in Stripe – Sale $49.99 (Was $75)
Cozy but not hot, drapey but not clingy, 10 percent cashmere (that’s the softest thing you’ve ever felt, basically), now in the deck-striped silhouette you love—think dropped shoulders, slim sleeves, and a split hem.
Always Chambray Shirt – $78
Washed for a soft, lived-in look and tailored for a boyish fit (emphasis on the “ish”—it’s quite flattering). This is the one you’ll pick up in multiples. Yeah, it’s just that good.
- Crew’s skinniest style, the toothpick, is lean, cropped and a little bit sexy—and it’s the pair we’re most likely to tear our closet apart looking for.
Since I’m only 5’1″, I bought the petite length so I could save myself a trip to the seamstress. The length was perfect. *WIN*
Colette Suede d’Orsay Pumps – $248
A new take on an always-classic mid heel. With a French name because the open d’Orsay shape makes her très cool.
Well, that’s about it! I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. I enjoyed shopping for it all. I’m not so sure how my husband felt about it all – wink wink. If you have any comments or questions about anything that I didn’t cover, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
